Seeking a Business Development Coordinator (Litigation) for a large prestigious international law firm.
Our client is seeking a Specialist to support the New York office Litigation Group, as part of the Marketing & Business Development Department. This position reports to both the Global Director of Litigation Development in Chicago and the New York Business Development Director.
The Business Development group operates alongside more than 100 diverse problem-solvers and advisers dedicated to the client’s overall business development, marketing and communications function. This international team provides seamless service to some of the brightest minds in the legal industry, with an emphasis on quality, innovation and responsiveness.
In this new position, you will be a key member of a growing team, as well as a peer in the greater Business Development Firmwide team. You will liaise closely with litigators in the NY office, the Chicago Litigation Development team, and the New York Business Development team to facilitate various projects and initiatives to drive the development of new business. You will also collaborate closely (through knowledge sharing, decision making, and coordination) with the Firmwide Business Development team.
Consulting with the New York litigation partnership on the development and execution of meaningful strategic business development and marketing initiatives for the region;
Working alongside Litigation Business Development colleagues to develop clear, concise and compelling marketing materials for use in proposals and formal RFP responses, and survey and directory submissions;
Researching, developing, and managing on-point visibility opportunities, such as industry seminars and speaking opportunities, sponsorship opportunities to increase an individual or the group’s profile;
Assisting the Practice Intelligence group with collecting NY-specific litigation case experience to record in our real-time case tracking database;
Updating data in the Firm’s marketing contact relationship management (CRM) database, including the review and creation of mailing lists used for direct mail campaigns.
Reviewing and consulting with attorneys on new content, including matters and awards/rankings, and focus of their bios
Working with all functions of the greater Business Development & Marketing team, including Operations, Development, Systems, Communications, and Business Intelligence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree is required;
A minimum of 5 years’ experience within professional services with proven business development, client development, or marketing experience is required;
Deep knowledge of litigation, particularly Corporate Governance/M&A litigation and Securities & Shareholder litigation, is required;
Exceptional communication skills, including an innate ability to communicate to the stakeholders on overall efforts, progress and results;
Very strong project management abilities to lead and control large, complex pitches, proposals and RFPs.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly an expertise with PowerPoint and Word, is required;
Experience with Excel, Adobe, and SharePoint are preferred;
Proficiency with various research databases including, but not limited to Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg, Westlaw MonitorSuite, Lex Machina.
