Job: Business Intelligence Architect Philadelphia 135k

One of the world’s leading law firms is seeking a Business Intelligence Architect for its Philadelphia office.

This position is a member of the Business Intelligence (BI) Architecture & Development team. The Business Intelligence Architect works with Business Intelligence Engineers and Business Intelligence Analysts to design and develop solutions for the entire business intelligence life cycle. This includes but is not limited to designing and developing data models, stored procedures, functions, ETL, and BI dashboards. This position is responsible for providing technical leadership and vision, technical mentorship and assistance to other BI personnel, and investigating new technologies and practices in the BI space. The architect collaborates with the Manager of BI Architecture and Development to establish policies, procedures, and governance of the enterprise BI architecture. The BI architect has a strong background in enterprise business intelligence, data architecture, taking BI projects through the entire life cycle, and technically guiding a team through the various stages. Other key skills include translating business needs into analytic and reporting requirements, analyzing technical requirements, and innovating comprehensive technical solutions to satisfy those needs.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Technical and architectural mentorship, vision, design and implementation.
• Dimensional modeling and data warehouse life cycle.
• Project & technical assessment.
• Develop standards for data and BI component governance.
• Collaborate with Database Administrators and Developers regarding the development of and adherence to data modeling standards, methods and practices.
• Develop complex dashboards and reporting solutions for partners, legal staff, firm management, and administrative users.
• Implement business rules in applicable BI applications.
• Maintain knowledge of current BI technologies, architectures, and methodologies.
• Verify data accuracy and define long term data maintenance strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology or other relevant field of study. • Minimum of 10 years of Information Technology experience with a minimum of 5 years of that designing, developing, and implemting enterprise data warehouse and BI solutions. A minimum of 1 year of that experience must be in an architect role. • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Excellent technical, writing, communication skills • Customer service, interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills • Strategic thinking, problem solving, and planning skills • Ability to adapt to change and balance competing demands • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications, prepare business correspondence, proposals and reports, effectively present information to groups of employees TECHNICAL SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the following software and methodologies: • Expertise with a BI tool is required, preferably Qlik Sense or QlikView • Knowledge of SQL Server 2016, 2017 environment • Extensive knowledge of complex SQL development and troubleshooting (tables, views, stored procedures, functions, indexes, scripts, etc.) • Expertise with an ETL tool, preferably SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) • Business, Functional, and Technical Specification Composition • Agile/SCRUM life cycle experience preferred • Experience in the following areas is a plus: statistics, machine learning, predictive modeling • Experience with the following languages is a plus: R, JavaScript • Certifications in Microsoft database, Microsoft BI, Qlik Sense, or Qlik View certifications are a plus
