Our client, a prestigious law firm, is seeking a Collections Specialist. This position will report to the Manager of Business Practice Services.
The Collections Specialist will develop working relationships with assigned billing attorneys in
order to assist the Firm in promoting the importance of year round collection practices. The
position is also responsible for monitoring the status of receivables and collections; maintaining
reports; and communicating results to Management. This is a highly visible position with daily
interactions with Management, Partners and Clients.

 Proactively lead (when approved by the billing attorney) with the collections of client
receivables.
 Contact clients on behalf of Billing Partners regarding outstanding balances via phone
and email.
 Document the status of client billing and collections along with the status of past due
balances in *Collect and management reports.
 Daily servicing of clients and attorneys (account reconciliations, miscellaneous questions
and requests).
 Monitoring and tracking of billing, collections and reallocations as needed for departed
attorneys.
 Coordinate with the Manager of Business Practice Services identifying problem
receivables and initiate appropriate collection measures as assigned.
 Monitoring of payment plans to ensure adherence.
 Track account collections and participate in collection meetings.
 Periodic review of Unallocated Cash balances to determine if payments or adjustments
are needed.
 Communication with Clients, Attorneys and staff to research and reconcile cash
application issues and provide research and support as needed.
Qualifications:
 High School diploma required.
 3+ years A/R and Collections experience (prior law firm experience preferred).
 Must be very proactive with little day-to-day supervision required.
 Must have a high proficiency in Word and Excel.
 Must be able to work effectively with a team while being able to work independently.
 Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
 Extreme attention to detail; ability to prioritize, multi-task and complete work with
accuracy, consistency and efficiency.
 Good judgment, a professional demeanor and the ability to be discreet and remain
resilient in high pressure situation
