A multiservice law firm in midtown Manhattan is seeking a Litigation Paralegal.
This midlevel position will support the legal team of partners, associates and paralegals. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of paralegal experience in litigation matters. Successful candidates will have excellent drafting, writing and analytical skills, accurate and strong attention to detail, high level of organization, strong verbal and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple projects. Other duties include:
 Cite checking and Bluebooking of briefs, letter motions, affirmations, etc.
 Managing cases from start to finish
 Organizing case materials including discovery-related documents
 Creating and maintaining case files
 Preparing privilege logs, production logs, chronologies, deposition digests, etc.
 Drafting, proofreading and editing written discovery requests/responses, notices, affidavits/declarations, correspondences
 Other tasks as dictated by attorneys and senior paralegals
 5+ years of experience working in a Litigation law practice, preferably at a large or mid-size lawfirm, working on a wide variety of general litigation matters, specifically:
 Strong organizational skills to manage small to large cases that are document intensive
 Good working knowledge of the electronic discovery process including the use of various review platforms
 Proficient in Excel and Lexis
 Trial/arbitration experience a plus
 Must have cite-checked a brief within the last 6 months
 The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a team player, and a self-starter; possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced
environment, a very strong attention to detail, and a professional demeanor.
 Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely and build relationships with lawyers, clients and staff to achieve results. Requires a high level of collaboration with attorneys and staff
and the ability to exercise independent judgment.
 Strong computer skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Lexis, and using the internet is a must. Working knowledge of iManage or other filing databases and web technology would be beneficial.
 Bachelor’s degree is required
 Paralegal certificate a plus
