Our client, a top firm in NYC, is looking ofr a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join their firm. The senior Litigation Paralegal will provide support to attorneys in the daily management of multiple complex matters for numerous clients. Trial experience is essential. Large firm experience preferred. Experience in International Arbitration is preferred.
Responsibilities:
• E-Discovery and Document Management
Perform bates-stamping, redaction, deduplication and indexing of documents. Maintain
files which are organized chronologically, numerically and/or by subject matter. Interface
with vendors on all aspects of electronic and hardcopy productions. Work closely with
attorneys to categorize documents by subject matter, prepare a chronology of facts and
create production charts. Expertise with some of the tools such as eDiscovery Point,
Relativity and Driven One. Familiarity with use of Technology-assisted review options and
forensically sound collection techniques. Familiarity with document production standards
and the Federal Rules of Evidence.
• Searching and Research
Maintain internal case files, run key word searches on internal and external document
databases, collect relevant information from a variety of resources such as newspapers,
magazines, libraries, and other online resources. Perform legal research using Lexis and
Westlaw. Prepare summaries of research results. Perform factual research. Have broad
understanding of strengths and weaknesses of online databases including Courtlink,
Law360, Law.com, ITA Law, UN Treaty Collection, Kluwers, Edgar, Thomas, Monitor
Suite, and Worldcat among others.
• Pre-trial Motions Practice and Depositions
Identify and consolidate documents relevant to deponents and witnesses, create witness
binders, organize and handle exhibits during the proceeding, and digest transcripts.
Perform blue booking, cite-checking, and shepardizing, proofread/edit pleadings and
assist with motion filing, as needed. Maintain litigation calendars and have sufficient
knowledge of federal, state and local rules of procedure. Cite-checking proficiency is
required. Experience with e-filing in both state and federal courts.
• Case Management
Oversee the management of the matter file from inception through resolution. Oversee
the organization of documents as they are received and created, order transcripts from
reporting services, monitor case activity using PACER and Courtlink, and liaise with
outside counsel and others to coordinate document productions, filings, and information
exchange. Responsible for outsourcing duplication/photocopying projects to reliable
vendors.
• Trial Practice
Organize exhibits, files and all other supporting documents using TimeMap, LiveNote,
SharePoint, and other case management software. Coordinate trial set-up and logistics,
assist attorneys in the courtroom by taking notes and handling exhibits, assist in the
preparation of witness testimony and serve as liaison among trial attorneys, Litigation
Support and other support staff.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year accredited college or university and at least four years
related litigation experience and/or training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CaseNotebook and
Relativity. Must be proficient with Bluebook and cite-checking.
Language Skills:
Highly proficient (or stronger) in Spanish. Ability to read and interpret legal documents. Ability to
write in a succinct, legal style and to speak effectively before groups of clients and/or employees
of the firm.
