Job Description:
Position Summary
In this role you will be responsible for supervising the Construction Accounting team and aiding the Construction Controller. This position also provides support to the Construction division and Corporate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Supervise and review work of the Construction Accounting team, including internal and external billing, cash receipts postings, collections efforts and accounts payable ensuring timely and accurate processing.
· Work with project managers and Construction Controller regarding job creation, budget, actual progress and closure including entry of particulars into accounting software. Responsible for periodic review and reconciliation of job costing.
· Analyze trial balance for multiple operating entities, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to standards and process transactions as needed including month end accrual analysis.
· Generate various standard and ad hoc financial reports.
· Assist Construction Controller with month end closing process.
· Act as backup within Construction Accounting team.
· Monitor, renew and initiate business licenses and related requirements for construction entities.
· Identify and undertake process improvements.
· Document and/or update accounting procedures.
· Complete required training as assigned and attend required meetings as requested.
Job Requirements:
Education and/or Experience Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
· Minimum five years of accounting experience
· Minimum three years supervisory experience
· Minimum two years construction industry experience preferred.
· Strong job cost accounting skills preferred.
· Experience with multiple inter-related entities and cost centers preferred.
· Local experience and contractor knowledge preferred.

· Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office suite of products, with intermediate (or higher) Excel skills.
· Prior experience with Yardi software a plus.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
