Job Description:
Responsibilities:
* Update and implement records management policies and systems to ensure that data is recorded accurately, stored securely under applicable retention schedules, accessible to authorized personnel, and disposed of in accordance with legal and firm requirements.
* Provides expertise and input into other functional areas affecting the recorded information of the firm.
* Prepare departmental objectives in accordance with long-range records management and retention plans.
* Prepare and monitor departmental budget.
* Conduct hiring of department staff as needed.
* Manage department staff across all firm offices and is responsible for the training of all new department personnel.
* Manage relationships with offsite records storage providers, evaluate and approve purchase of equipment; participate in negotiation of vendor contracts and agreements.
* Provide assistance to users regarding records creation, storage, and retrieval and train users on records management software .
* Work with the Information Technology department on the maintenance of records management software.
* Review client engagement letters or records policies and requirements for alignment with firm long term records retention policy.
* Oversee the management of hard copy documents and electronic media.
* Oversee and ensure records and file rooms are maintained in a neat, orderly, and secure manner.
* Develop plan for and implementation of the firm's vital records protection and disaster prevention and recovery response.
* Work with Office of General Counsel to effectuate legal holds and ethical wall restrictions on firm records.
* Utilize expertise to evaluate manual and/or automated record systems and make recommendations for improvements and modernization.

Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree required.
* Certified Records Manager (CRM) preferred.
* Minimum of seven years of legal records management (law firm records management experience preferred).
* Experience with iManage Records Manager (IRM) software preferred.
* Experience managing offsite records storage providers and negotiating storage agreements.
* Experience managing personnel both in person and remotely across offices.
* Must be methodical and organized. Must be able to multi-task and operate well under time constraints in a high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Ability to work well as a member of a team and to develop relationships with internal case teams, departments, and outside service providers.
