Job Description:
The Billing Assistant will be responsible for working with the Billing team to compile, edit and create invoices for firm billing. The billing assistant will interface with Billing Coordinators, Billing Manager and vendors in ensuring edits are made in a timely manner, and work on ad hoc projects within the billing department. A successful candidate will be a self-starter with an interest in starting their career in Billing.
Responsibilities:
* Assist Billing Coordinators with the preparation of monthly narrative and detailed bills. Carefully make edits and apply discounts ensuring adherence to client requirements; check discounts applied by the accounting system.
* Verify accuracy of billing data. Maintain information with respect to client-specific discounts, disallowed charges and required task coding for Billing Coordinators.
* Assist the Billing Department with the preparation of reporting as requested.
* Act as a key resource for the team, independently seek out answers to questions, take initiative, leverage network of resources to solve problems and proactively cascade knowledge to peer network.
* Provide support and assistance to fellow billing assistants as needed.
* Additional duties as requested.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or similar required
* Basic understanding of clerical and administrative procedures
* Strong written and verbal communications skills
* Excellent organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work well in a team environment
* Ability to solve problems as they arise.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
