Job Description:


•  Oversee and direct all insurance and risk related matters for a portfolio of 80 complex commercial real estate properties across  New York City, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties.  

•  Continuously evaluate internal and external operations, exposures, stakeholders, and liabilities  

•  Placement and management of entire corporate insurance program including all lines of coverage, remaining current with exposure profile, and identifying potential implications of pipeline projects relative to the overall program.  

•  Responsible for assessing, reporting, handling, and monitoring all incidents, claims and litigation, including monitoring both brokerage advocacy and defense counsel activity on all tender and litigation matters.   

•  Manage and review all contractor and vendor insurance programs, contracts, agreements, purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation to ensure proper risk transfer.

•  Assist Legal and Finance departments with drafting and review of contracts to promote inclusion of appropriate insurance requirements and risk transfer conditions, without creating significant operational hurdles or delays.

•  Continually monitor and update  hazardous risk safety guides and assessments to identify potential hazards and develop prevention plans to mitigate, i.e., snow removal, building management, slip trip & fall risks.  

•  Monitor and update  COVID-19 mitigation plan, including implementation of NYS obligations for commercial building management, employee dealings and tenant communications across headquarters as well as all 80 properties

 

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and Education Requirements

•  Bachelor’s  degree,  risk management, business,  or finance  focus a plus

•  Minimum of 5 years commercial property and casualty insurance experience

•  Comprehensive knowledge of property and casualty insurance policy clauses, as well as management liability coverage along with a working knowledge of construction risks and experience with safety, loss prevention and claims analysis.

•  Excellent communication  (written and verbal)  and client service skills are required

•  Must be highly organized, strong attention to detail

•  Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications  

•  CRM, ARM or CPCU designation is a plus
