Job Description:

Responsibilities:

* Oversee and manage special events and private functions.

* Ensure that all evening food service workflows are completed.

* Train staff to elevate level of service at events by developing proper training on customer service and serving etiquette.

* Running the floor by acting as liaison between kitchen and service staff.

* Stay current on banquet, service and event trends.

* Planning of event itineraries to ensure greatest event success.

* Request special items or rentals that will be required for events.

* Maintain cleanliness of event space by inspecting for damage or problem areas before and after events; report issue as needed to proper service discipline.

* Ensure all safety protocols are communicated and adhered to.

* Tending to guests' requests, questions and complaints

* Perform other duties as assigned



Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

* High School diploma or GED

* May be required to train staff

* Minimum of 2 years as banquet captain or similar experience

* Must have a strong sense of attention to detail

* Excellent time management and multitasking skills

* Sense of personal responsibility

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities

* Ability to work well in pressured, fast-paced environment and maintain calm and accommodating demeanor.

* Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts

* Willing to work overtime according to business needs.

* Ability to operate the event management system (CRS), Microsoft Suite and online ordering tools (Sharebite).

* Ability to work in office Monday - Friday, 1pm - 9pm EST.


ADA Requirements


* Must be able to stand/walk long hours, lift and carry up to 40lbs

* Must be able to work comfortably with people in small (sometimes busy) kitchen

* Needs manual dexterity, speed and accuracy in handling supplies

* Ability to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption

* Ability to work in close proximity to other individuals

* Ability to carry light to moderate objects, e.g., files, small objects and supplies a short distance.
