Job Description:
Essential Functions:
Patent Litigation Legal Assistant with a strong litigation background, capable of working with attorneys and independently.
- Editing and revising documents; extensive use of Litera and Compare Docs;
- Assist with document conversion and clean up documents; create and revise legal documents adhering to Firm’s styles and guidelines;
- Facilitating effective communication;
- Court filings through the E-filing system for both Federal Court and State Court and Bankruptcy Court; Services of Documents;
- Create and edit Tables of Authorities and Tables of Contents using Best Authority;
- Create Hyperlink and Briefs through Lexis and Westlaw; Bookmark PDF;
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials by organizing exhibits, preparing trial binders, and coordinating logistics for court appearances;
- Conduct electronic searches and provide references and order file histories;
- Review docket for deadlines, understand actions needed on each file; inform attorney of deadlines;
- All phases of patent prosecution such as USPTO, Information Disclosure Statements, search prior art;
- Compile US and foreign patents and case law, prepare exhibits for client meetings, depositions, arbitrations and trial;
- Organize legal papers for service and filing, including preparing inventory for file shipments and maintaining legal files in chronological order to assist litigation attorneys
- Light paralegal work; assist with preparation for trial support and client interaction;
- Non-legal research; set up reservation for travel and restaurants;
- Daily admin tasks, such as answering phones, preparing outgoing mail and sorting incoming mail; monitor Outlook calendar
- Involvement in some aspects of billing; Enter and edit attorney time entries through Aderant and Intapp; Fill out expense reports;
- Assist other Legal Assistants as support during absences.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Nuance PDF Converter, iManage Document Management System, Best Authority, Intapp Time, CompareDocs, Litera, Big Hand Dictation System, Intapp Billstream, Zoom, Microsoft Teams; and DocuSign
- Strong written and verbal communication and interaction with support staff, professional staff and clients;
- Holds a current Notary Public commission or will acquire within the first 6 months of employment;
- Professional demeanor and appearance and positive attitude.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of law firm Patent and Litigation experience
- High School Diploma required, Associate/Bachelor’s degree preferred
