Job Description:
The Manager will oversee pricing on a firmwide basis and will be responsible providing financial and analytical support to attorneys for pricing rate structures, managing Request For Proposal (``RFP'') responses, modelling client and
matter profitability and Alternative Fee Arrangement structures, negotiating rate agreements and renewing expired rate agreements, and advising on pricing decisions for Partners and firm development
Responsibilities:
* Research, identify and provide recommendations to existing and historical firm matters that may provide a baseline for billing attorneys in developing budgets for new matters.
* Build relationships and collaborate with internal clients, attorneys and other stakeholders to develop firmwide strategic goals for the organization.
* Maintain and manage Rate Agreements by Client, Matter and TK level.
* Create analysis and designs reports/presentations to display pricing trends.
* Develop and propose pricing recommendations to assist attorneys with establishing budgets; monitoring engagements on a regular basis and provide reporting as requested.
* Maintain Attorney Rate Structures by Level by office standard, discounts, etc.
* Manage existing renew expiring rate agreements and discount structures across all clients and industries including Banking, Insurance, Private Equity, Corporate.
* Manage AFAs (Fixed Fee, Capped Fee, Success Fee, Contingency), Tiered Volume
Discounts, Matter Budgeting (Litigation by Phase, by Task, by Attorney Level) and Rate Agreement Renewals.
* Identify rate agreements that are coming up for renewal, and manage renewal process to ensure that updated rate agreements are completed in a timely fashion and properly entered into the firmwide Accounting system.
* Analyze client performance date to identify opportunities and make recommendations about pricing strategies based on client profiles and historical analysis.
* Collaborate with Finance & Accounting Department and other administrative departments to ensure that the correct data is being captured and that the appropriate tools are available to provide accurate and timely reporting
* Coordinate and communicate with firmwide Billing Department to ensure that any new rate agreements are properly input into the firm Accounting system and entered into the firmwide Client Arrangement Database.
* Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
* A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
* A minimum of five years of related financial and analytical management experience, in positions of increasing authority, preferably in a law firm or other professional services environment.
* Experience with multi-office, multi-currency accounting.
* Excellent communication and presentation skills.
* A self-confident leader who is able to work equally with lawyers and administrative staff.
