Job Description:


Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the management of the Firm’s expanding team of Case Managers and Senior Case Managers. Exhibit a clear focus on directing and supervising litigation-support work, staffing of team members, and training, to support case teams during all stages of litigation from investigation through trial and appeal.
  • Support the daily coordination of case management services by assigning matters, balancing workloads across staff, and ensuring adequate coverage and workflow efficiency.
  • Work in tandem with the Director of Case Management to address personnel or work-performance issues among team members.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and help to develop expectations and performance goals for relevant case managers.
  • Work with the Director of Case Management to develop training and accompanying materials and provide coaching and mentoring to assigned staff as needed.
  • Prepare for depositions, conferences, and hearings, including compiling documents, assisting in preparing witness outlines, and managing logistical and technical details.
  • Support trial preparation and execution by organizing and tracking exhibits, preparing legal documents and evidence for courtroom presentation, coordinating remote trial office logistics, liaising with vendors, and maintaining communication with courtroom personnel and other trial participants.
  • Stay up to date on trends and developments in litigation support and eDiscovery, proactively identifying, evaluating, and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Conduct legal research and draft various documents, including memoranda, correspondence, and case-related materials, as needed or directed by supervising attorneys.
  • Participate in the recruitment process, including reviewing resumes, participating in interviews, and collaborating with the recruiting team to identify top talent aligned with organizational goals.
  • Other special projects and administrative responsibilities as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree and at least 7-8 years of litigation-support experience required.   At least 2 years of supervisory experience in a litigation-specific role at a law firm preferred. The role also requires excellent writing, research, analytics, and problem-solving skills.  

Knowledge and Skills:  You have an exceptional working knowledge of litigation case-management principles and common research tools.   You are tech-savvy and have advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.  

Clear Communication and Attention to Detail:  You express yourself clearly and concisely and you proactively communicate the status of your work.   You have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.

Ownership, Initiative, and Teamwork:  You  are a dedicated self-starter who  takes ownership of your projects and follows through on their completion. You proactively anticipate, communicate, and work to independently resolve obstacles you encounter in your work.   You possess a strong customer-service orientation and ability to work well within a team.

Organization and Project Management:  You are comfortable balancing tasks of varying levels of urgency and complexity and work well under pressure with tight deadlines.

Flexibility:  You are flexible to be available after hours to assist with case-management issues and questions as they arise.   You are comfortable in an environment where your responsibilities may vary from day to day. You demonstrate a “no job too big, no job too small” attitude, and take a collaborative, team-focused approach to rejuggling priorities and contributing to tasks across the Firm.
