Job Description:

Essential Functions:


* Together with your business development colleagues, the Director (Washington, DC) will:

* Develop and execute strategic priorities with a focus on growing market share specific to geography, practice groups, client teams, industry groups and individual partners, and regularly track and report on progress.

* Collaborate with the Deputy CMO and Litigation Director to execute individual lawyer, Washington, DC, litigation department and firm business development and marketing objectives.

* Collaborate with the firm's event professionals and other members of the business development department to identify and maximize ROI on targeted client and industry events, sponsorships, webinars, speaking engagements and thought leadership opportunities.

* Ensure a structured approach for maintaining up-to-date business and client information, knowledge experience including information for pitches that aligns with the firm's existing processes.

* Work closely with the department's embedded Analysis professionals and the firm's Competitive Intelligence team to monitor marketplace and competitive developments that impact existing and prospective clients, and quickly make recommendations that accurately reflect current U.S. regulatory, administrative and judicial policies.

* Collaborate with firm partners and other team members to more efficiently mine data and improve experience collection.

* Prepare pitch materials, responses to RFPs, and other client presentations as needed including the development of winning strategies, identifying ways to differentiate the firm from the competition, and coaching lawyers on pitch delivery.

* Optimize directory and survey submissions, and award opportunities.

* Direct marketing and business development database updates, including practice and matter descriptions, website, biographies, mailing lists and CRM.

* Additional responsibilities as assigned.



Job Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree.
* Master's degree in public, foreign or monetary policy, cybersecurity, or legal studies is a plus.
* Strong understanding of the Washington, DC legal market and U.S. governmental framework, appellate landscape, legislative and public policy, international risk and national security priorities, and security technologies.
* Strong understanding of litigation, and experience with one or more of congressional investigations, cybersecurity & data protection, national security, economic sanctions, bank regulation, and/or appellate litigation.
* Minimum of twelve years of experience in a successful business development or marketing role in a professional services environment focused on a U.S. regulatory, government or appellate practice.

TECHNOLOGIES/SOFTWARE

* A solid command of software applications to produce high-end, professional work product, including PowerPoint and Excel
* Experience with litigation and government research platforms, including Bloomberg Law, Monitor Suite, MLex, Lex Machina and others.
* Experience with InterAction or an equivalent Contact Relationship Management (CRM) system is required.
