Paralegal - Restructuring, Insolvency and Bankruptcy
Job Description:
- Prepare Fee Applications (monthly, interim, final), documents, and materials for use at Court hearings and other bankruptcy specific documents
- Provide support on lien searches and analyses and schedules and statement of financial affairs
- Prepare Proofs of Claim and reconciliation of claims filed (proof of claims; scheduled of claims)
- Exhibit understanding of Statutory and Case Deadlines and prepare related memos
- Demonstrate understanding of Local Rules within each Jurisdiction
- Work closely with clients and financial advisors and prepare monthly operating reports
- Prepare ballot packages (tabulate and certify ballot classes; prepare charts; prepare ballot tally reports)
- Other tasks as assigned or required
Job Requirements:
Position qualifications
- Attainment of at least a Bachelor's Degree is required
- 4 to 10 years bankruptcy experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision are essential
- Must have superior client service and communication skills
- Must have the ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Must have the ability to interact and work productively with all levels of lawyers, paraprofessionals and business services team members
- Must demonstrate strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain discretion and privacy with confidential matters and documents
- Ability to recognize and comprehend facts and legal concepts
- Strong computer technical skills and demonstrated ability to learn new technologies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, PDF creation tool(s), document management software and Elite or other timekeeping software is required
- Ability to work overtime as needed
