Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Work closely with the GFM and Real Estate Leadership and individual partners and lawyers, to become familiar with their offerings, clients, and markets to advise on the most effective client programs and marketing approaches.

* Drive and implement our strategy for the Americas GFM group by working with Practice Area Leaders and group members in developing business plans in line with the wider GFM strategy, including financial analysis, individual partner goal-setting and corresponding marketing plans.

* Manage and continually develop a team of three direct reports.

* Support lawyers in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including market analysis, business planning and the production of bid documents (including pitches, responses to RFPs and capability statements), sometimes in collaboration with the graphics team and the global proposals team.

* Support specific client relationship partners in developing and implementing strategic client plans, conducting relationship and matter reviews, and arranging for value-added services, such as CLE seminars.

* Identify and drive synergies between practice and industry sector teams, including by providing hands-on support for regional sector focus groups, keeping abreast of market trends, completing client research, developing integrated marketing campaigns, focus on sector-specific clients and providing client management support.

* Collaborate with the global BD support team to ensure transaction/deal information is captured in transaction databases for league table submissions, directory listings, pitches, partner biographies, awards, and other external and internal communication activities, and manage relevant mailing lists within our CRM database.

* Manage an efficient framework for internal reporting and communication of business development activities to promote cross-selling with the GFM group and with other practice areas.

* Collaborate with our Communications & PR colleagues to identify opportunities to support individual lawyers and public matters that bolster the GFM and Real Estate practice's visibility and reputation via media relations, seminar sponsorship/participation, internal communications and website and intranet content.

* Support the Firm's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategy, initiatives, and programs.

* Support cross-practice business development initiatives as necessary; manage and contribute to wider BD projects, as required, including playing a key role in the development and roll-out of the Americas growth strategy.



Job Requirements:

• 5-7 years of business development/marketing experience in a law firm or professional services firm.

• Must have experience managing a team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing/Communications preferred, MBA a plus.

• A global mindset and perspective; prior experience on global strategic initiatives a plus.

• Ability to develop advisory relationships with partners by demonstrating:

• Must possess strong technical proficiency in various software including Microsoft Office, InterAction, and ideally with Foundation.

• Must be independently legally authorized to work in the United States.
