Job Description:

Duties and/or Responsibilities:

- Analyzes conflict of interest reports for all new firm representations and lateral attorney hires to identify potential conflict problems. - Resolves conflict of interest issues (to include obtaining necessary waivers and drafting ethics wall memos) related to the firm’s clearance of new clients, new matters, and lateral attorneys. - Analyzes information provided with new matter requests for compliance with firm policies and applicable rules of professional responsibility, and reviews and edits draft engagement letters for compliance with same. - Reviews client outside counsel guidelines and assists with assessment of firm’s ability to comply. - Conducts orientation of staff and attorneys regarding the new matter approval process. - Help out running conflict searches when circumstances require. - Occasional after-hours or weekend coverage for emergency conflict requests. - Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: - Strong analytical and communication skills both oral and written. - Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines. - Strong Internet research skills. - Ability to work with little supervision and collaborate with other members of the team. - A strong customer service approach and team focus with the ability to work independently. - Ability to undertake projects and tasks without specific instruction.

Job Requirements:

Prior experience in utilizing automated conflicts systems. - Flexibility to work additional hours as needed. - Other duties as assigned or requested.

Hours 8:00am-4:00pm or 8:30-4:30.


Law firm experience preferred. - Conflicts of interest/compliance database experience. - Corporate family tree research and understanding of business structures. - Database research experience and/or experience with corporate research resources such as Capital IQ. - Experience with conflicts search and/or risk management applications such as Intapp Open and/or Intapp Wallbuilder, Elite.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the legal or financial field.
