Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
* Manage, perform, and oversee billing functions assigned to ensure work is completed accurately and effectively within defined deadlines, including pre-bills, invoices, and e-billing.
* Prepares electronic bills in LEDES (Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard) format using Aderant Expert.
* Responsible for submission of eBills to the various subscription and client-based eBilling sites and correcting validation errors to ensure successful submission.
* Monitor eBilling statuses with consistent follow-up to ensure eBills are successfully accepted and approved for payment.
* Research client deductions related to eBilling, and if applicable, resubmit revised eBill.
* Compile and submit accrual and budget information on various eBill sites.
* Responsible for the proposal and submission of timekeeper rates and monitoring timekeeper approvals and rejections.
* Communicate clearly and concisely with attorneys, clients, and management to ensure that invoices and eBills are prepared according to instruction, fostering understanding and alignment.
* Generate a ``Statement of Accounts'' for attorney approval before emailing the client, ensuring accuracy and transparency in our financial dealings.
* Provide support to collections process
* Your adaptability and ability to manage day-to-day tasks in an environment with shifting priorities are crucial to our success.
* Responds to e-mail and telephone inquiries from clients, electronic billing vendors, partners, and other Client Accounting staff regarding various aspects of electronic billing using practical communication skills, both oral and written.
* Assist with special projects as needed
Job Requirements:
Qualifications / Experience:
* Minimum of 3/5 years of professional services billing in the legal industry, including at least two years of electronic billing experience
* Proficiency in Aderant Expert (strongly preferred) or Elite Enterprise software
* Proficiency in Excel and Word software
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems.
* Familiarity with various electronic billing vendor websites.
* Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team.
* Ability to meet deadlines and work overtime as needed.
