Job Description:

In this capacity, the Manager, Leaves and Accommodations will:


* Provide subject-matter expertise related to global leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation, ergonomics and compliance programs;

* Provide day-to-day leadership, oversight and coordination of the team's responsibilities in accordance with the Firm's strategic goals, policies, and federal and state laws and regulations;

* Set overall priorities and initiatives for the Firm's leaves of absence, accommodations, workers' compensation, ergonomics and compliance, including preparing and maintaining SOPs and project plans;

* Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws, including but not limited to: FMLA, ADA, COBRA, HIPAA-HITECH, DOL and IRS regulations in collaboration with Department Management, Directors of Business Operations and Talent Management department;

* Lead implementation of new programs, portal content updates, vendor RFPs and contract negotiations related to leaves of absence;

* Manage the Firm's workers' compensation program including, but not limited to; handling claims, settlement negotiations, and coordination with outside counsel to attend depositions/hearings;

* Regularly review policy documents for updates;

* Oversee payroll and benefit premium collection for individuals on leave;

* Prepare reports reflecting individuals currently on leave and any applicable budget relief for timekeepers;

* Initiate the interactive process when necessary;

* Review and provide recommendations for all ADA accommodations;

* Ensure that all records related to leave of absence, workers' comp, ergonomics and accommodations are complete and accurate;

* Review ergonomic assessments and recommendations for approval;

* Engage with the Firm's Chief Employment counsel regarding complex leave and accommodation issues;

* Develop, implement and monitor appropriate controls and metrics to identify and recommend improvements to current processes to ensure that overall performance is aligned with business objectives;

* Manage team performance, set goals and ensure the team's continuous professional development;

* Interface with consultants, vendors, and carriers as needed;

* Assist with benefit administration and respond to general inquiries as needed;

* Act with a high degree of integrity and discretion handling confidential employee information;

* Exercises good judgment at all times with respect to data privacy, security and all Firm policies and procedures; and

* Performs other duties as assigned.
