Job Description:
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Collaborate with partners to develop and execute best administrative practices and strategic plans, ensuring effective communication across the practice group.
- Coordinates and processes billing to include processing invoices for vendors, drafting, editing, and preparing pre-bills and final bills per attorney/client specifications and/or guidelines.
- Review and verify accuracy of billing and supporting documentation, as required.
- Confirms correct rates and any fee arrangements are accurately reflected for each individual matter.
- Create quarterly reports and monthly bill accruals for clients.
- Create form database of IP documents and best practices.
- Work with marketing to create marketing materials and to plan and execute group events and other initiatives, coordinate client meetings and communications, and support client presentations and proposals.
- Coordinate with marketing and strategic pricing department.
- Maintain and assist with practice group budget management, and provide feedback on client requests.
- Review CLE opportunities and work with partners to fulfill the group’s educational needs.
- Create and maintain filing systems for trademark prosecution and enforcement matters on NetDocs document system.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree with 3-6 years of applicable work experience in a law firm setting.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to work independently and proactively, in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to and build credibility and good rapport with lawyers, staff and clients.
- Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, are required. Aderant Expert, Chrome River and Net Docs experience preferred. Experience with trademark docketing and USPTO Financial Manager a plus.
- Can organize, prioritize, plan, and multi-task to effectively meet deadlines.
