Job Description:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Act as IP Specialist on the Library's Reference Team, advising colleagues on IP search techniques, content and delivery. Liaison regularly with IP group to gather feedback and suggestions to meet ever-changing research needs
* Develop onboarding/orientation program for newly joining attorneys. Work in collaboration with Manager of E-Services, Associate Director and Director.
* Present informational and training sessions on electronic services to the attorneys, legal assistants and staff using a variety of instruction: group sessions, individual sessions, webinars, podcasts. In collaboration with Manger of Electronic Services, present/showcase electronic resources at Departmental lunches. Provide monthly statistics/reporting to Director on trainings conducted.
* Draft database research and pricing guides. Work with colleagues to maintain the electronic LIBGUIDES™ onboarding tool.
* Promote our electronic alert/awareness tool, Manzama, to incoming attorneys, working with colleagues on constructing alerts for individual attorneys and departments.
* Work as part of the reference team, providing outstanding reference service via the collaborative Zendesk dashboard, providing support to all domestic and European offices.
* Participate in the evaluation and acquisition of new electronic resources with other team members.
* Contribute tips and best practice to the library staff
* Participate in library meetings and trainings.
* Work on special administrative projects as assigned.
* Maintain membership in professional groups relevant to special and law librarianship, attending meetings, taking advantage of networking opportunities and keeping abreast of changes and developments in best training practices
* Work with database vendors. Attend vendor trainings to monitor appropriateness and to offer suggestions to better tailor their programs
* Content contributor to LibraryPortal
* This position reports to the Director of Library Services, Associate Director of Library Services and works closely with our Manager of Electronic Services.
Job Requirements:
Experience & Skill Requirements:
ALA accredited MLS/MLIS/MLSL degree and/or JD required.
In-depth knowledge of legal and business databases, including but not limited to: Lexis Advance, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, the Bloomberg Professional Service Terminal, CCH Cheetah, Saegis, Patbase, Intelligize, Lex Machina,, Deal Point Data, Pitchbook, SNL Financial, Thomson One, RIA Checkpoint, Pacer, Docket Navigator, Courtlink, CourtAlert, DocketAlarm, Capital IQ, and Perfect Information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel as well as PowerPoint, Sharepoint and emerging technologies. Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn new applications and research tools quickly
Comfort operating in a virtual environment with standard tools (Zoom,Teams).
Excellent organizational, prioritization and planning skills and an ability to complete projects with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate information in an engaging and logical manner.
