Job Description:
The Senior Manager, Billing is responsible for managing all firmwide billing functions and staff.
In this capacity, the Senior Manager, Billing will:
* Manage billing staffing, training and performance of all billing personnel firm-wide;
* Ensure all bills firm-wide are processed accurately, timely, and in accordance with the Client Billing Guidelines and the Firm's internal procedures;
* Secure communications with billing attorneys and CSS's regarding adherence to clients' requirements;
* Respond to all billing requests from billing attorneys, CSS's, clients, and other internal teams; Provide all billing reports requested;
* Review current processes and suggests better methods or systems to improve firm revenue;
* Work beyond scheduled hours as required, in particular at month end and year end; and
* Handle additional related projects as necessary.
Job Requirements:
Proficiencies:
* Advanced proficiency in administering windows and web-based accounting programs, particularly for legal-specific accounting systems (Elite);
* Advanced proficiency in document management systems (WorkSite, FileSite, DeskSite, Equitrac);
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite applications;
* Advanced proficiency in financial forecasting programs (targetCash); and
* Advanced knowledge of principles and practices of accounting.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance (preferred);
* At least 5 years of experience in managing people, preferably in a large organization; Law firm experience (preferred);
* At least 5 years of financial systems experience (required);
* At least 10 years of general accounting experience (required); and
* At least 10 years of legal billing experience (preferred).
