Job Description:

Responsibilities for Corporate/Transactional Practices

* Develop collaborative professional relationships with partners, the members of the Client Development & Marketing team and other colleagues; drawing on a thorough understanding of the business and client development goals and priorities, provide value-add input and recommendations on client development projects

* Develop and project manage RFP/RFI responses, strategic pitches and similar efforts, including drafting new content, and identifying relevant capabilities and experience

* Become knowledgeable about the firm's clients and prospects (including the portfolio companies of sponsor clients) and understand the interconnectedness of client relationships and experience across the firm, in order to add value

* Work with partners to produce engaging client events that demonstrate the firm's strengths, including developing targeted invitee lists and supporting networking and follow-up; provide support related to conferences, sponsorships, industry memberships and similar efforts to maximize the client development ROI

* Invest time in learning and applying existing firmwide client development and marketing tools, including those pertaining to risk management; vet and collaborate on enhancements with business development and IT colleagues

* Manage the development and maintenance of prospects lists and the tracking of business development efforts, opportunities and outcomes

* Work with partners to identify and track key relationships and contacts

* Manage the creation and maintenance of marketing collateral material, including template pitch decks, practice/industry/geography descriptions, brochures, flyers, experience lists, tombstones and related materials, in collaboration with the firm's Graphics function as needed and consistent with firm brand guidelines

* Manage the fulfillment of attorney requests for bespoke experience lists, biographies, practice and industry descriptions and similar materials

* Become knowledgeable about the Corporate/transactional department's work flow and significant deals, and ensure that detailed experience information is obtained from attorneys and recorded in a timely manner

* Manage the league table submission process

* Manage the directory submission process for applicable categories

* Liaise with the Communications and broader Client Development & Marketing team on marketing efforts, such as practice awards, social media and website content, etc.

* Support profile-raising activities from time to time as needed



Job Requirements:


Desired Skills/Knowledge
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a law firm or professional services organization, with knowledge of and experience with Corporate practice areas. Experience with M&A and Private Equity or similar groups is strongly preferred.

* Very strong attention to detail, accuracy and organization - must be able to work in a thorough, diligent and proactive manner

* Process-oriented with strong time and project management skills; ability to prioritize and work within tight deadlines

* Strong writing and communication skills

* Must demonstrate reliability and build trust through consistence performance and responsiveness with attorneys, fellow Client Development & Marketing team members and other firm support departments

* Must demonstrate critical thinking skills by connecting information across various platforms and providing value-added input

* Ability to communicate, collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues and with all levels of firm personnel

* Knowledge of third-party databases such as CapitalIQ, Preqin and Pitchbook

* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat is essential; knowledge of Vuture and Interaction is strongly preferred

Education and Experience
Undergraduate degree is required, J.D. strongly preferred, prior corporate legal practice or paralegal experience strongly preferred
