Our client is seeking a Human Resources Senior Coordinator. This individual will report to the Director of Human Resources and will primarily be responsible for benefits and staff recruiting activities in the NY office.
-Day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to: point person for benefits and leave of absence, staff recruiting support, employee onboarding, preparing reports and responding to questions about HR policies and procedures from employees. It is expected that the individual will take on additional responsibilities and more complex project work over time.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Benefits:
-Conduct benefits orientation for staff and associates and answer day-to-day participant questions
-Follow-up with new hires prior to their enrollment deadline, as needed, to ensure timely enrollment
-In coordination with the Firmwide Benefits Department, provide participant education, conduct Open Enrollment presentations, explain benefits changes
-Explain leave of absence policies and provide guidance to staff and attorneys with respect to paid and unpaid leave entitlements
-Address and monitor potential Workers’ Compensation matters, including filing claims with the carrier
-Generate leave and benefits-related reports, as requested
-Responsible for local administration of Nursing Mothers, Ergonomics, and other related programs

Staff Recruiting:
-Post positions through direct and creative channels including external firm website, internal firm intranet, job posting boards, professional organizations, etc.
-Review resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to the position requirements
-Assist with passive candidate outreach for current openings and future pipelining
-Administer employment testing to applicants
-Participate in the development of ongoing creative and cost-effective sourcing strategies
-Participate in firmwide recruiting technology project teams

Employee Onboarding:
-Conduct benefits orientation for staff
-Verify new hire paperwork including I-9 documentation
-Act as a backup to attorney orientations

Miscellaneous:
-Respond to employee questions regarding Human Resources policy and procedure
-Assist with various HR projects.
-Other assignments and projects as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:
-Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, five+ years of Human Resources experience, considerable initiative, outstanding customer service skills and the ability to learn quickly. Must have a high energy level, can-do attitude and high standards for personal performance. Work requires excellent proofreading skills, organizational skills, acute attention to detail, excellent follow-through skills, as well as keen judgment and problem-solving skills. Individual must have the ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times. Ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, be able to multi-task, meet concrete deadlines, as well as be a solid team player. Working knowledge of Word and Excel is required. HRIS knowledge is required; PeopleSoft experience is preferred.
