A national law firm seeks a Business Analyst for their New York City office
The Business Analyst role requires a proactive, strategic thinker who is enthusiastic about sourcing
business opportunities for the firm. The ideal candidate has a combined researcher/analytical skill set,
and is able to synthesize business information from multiple sources into coherent deliverables which
inform business development strategies. The Business Analyst will manage multiple projects, identify
and prepare strategic assessments of key market conditions, respond to ad-hoc requests on competitive
and strategic issues, and produce valuable business information on a daily basis.
Conduct in-depth research and analysis of companies, industries, technologies, marketplaces,
and competitors to uncover key, actionable information and insights for business development
Create comprehensive analytical reports of research findings for business development
meetings and relationship building.
Provide succinct, meaningful daily reports to inform the firm-wide business development and
Analyze news/intelligence sources for business development opportunities.
Respond to ad-hoc requests for competitive intelligence and business analysis.
6-8+ years of experience. CFA, MBA or JD required.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial services, consulting or other professional services.
Ability to identify, compile and synthesize financial information and market intelligence to
create tailored and informative reports and analyses.
Ability to think strategically and innovatively. Possess an innate desire and curiosity to learn
about business, industries and markets.
Significant experience with research tools such as Bloomberg Terminal, S&P Money Market
Directories, Lexis/Nexis, Factiva, Hoover’s ALM Research Online, Lexis AtVantage, Westlaw
Excellent writing and editing skills. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the
ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
Experience working with senior professionals.
Ability to multi-task, judge priorities, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
